Those who accepted his message were baptized
Acts 2:41
God • Jesus • Kingdom • Spiritual • Christian
We are inhabitants of Silicon Valley. Many of us are engaged in technical work and find the synergy of science and spirituality a gift. We are intrigued by the mysteries of God’s action in our presence. We question and we seek. We invite you to seek with us.
We are newcomers to St Tim’s, so we do not have a long history that connects us. One of the most powerful experiences I have had thus far was the Sunday that the Howard family was included in the service as they had just lost their brother/uncle and his family. I arrived to church not knowing anything about the events of the weekend, and as the service started, there was an almost palpable change in the tenor. As Janet explained the situation and suggested we sing again a hymn with verses about loss and faith, we surrounded the Howard family physically (and spiritually) with our presence and love. I saw how much St Tim’s members cared for each other. People who otherwise may not have had a lot in common or didn’t know each other very well were coming together to offer comfort. It demonstrated for me that the church is a place that people come together in hard times, not apart. It is a safe place emotionally. For me personally, the experience connected me to St Tim’s in a way that I had not been before. I didn’t feel like a new member, but as one of St Tim’s. I now feel that I can sincerely offer care and comfort as well as accept it here.

All are welcome at our table. We rejoice with music and song and breaking of bread. We share the love and compassion of the Lord our God with all who are willing to receive it. We are a multi-generational community that includes families with many children who enliven our parish. Daily we go about the work of supporting and caring for one another.
Our joy is in service. Our mission is to uplift. The code we live by is one of love and acceptance. We cherish our children and provide a special worship experience for them.
We offer worship for those who find comfort in the Book of Common Prayer, and we have a contemporary service for those who come to experience Joy in Action.
When I’m stressed or life’s going in the wrong direction, coming to church gives me peace and helps me focus on the purpose God has for us. During the week the covenant groups bring the fact that we are a community of people who care and watch out for each other. Having a priest who is there for us helps.
When I considered leaving St. Tim’s I had to think. My decision came when I looked around and saw the people who stayed and knew I belonged here. Why? People who truly believe in God’s presence and are strong in their faith.

We challenge ourselves to do more for those in Silicon Valley who are less fortunate than many of us. We commit to making a difference in our community and in the world about us through ministry and outreach. As a covenant community many of us meet in small groups to study the Word and to increase its relevance in our lives. We share with open hearts and a call to meaningful relationship with one another and with Christ Jesus.
In the past we have faced challenges of unity and we now seek inspirational leadership. With hope and cheerful obedience, St. Timothy’s seeks a new Priest, a Rector who is grounded in the Gospel and who can help us to focus on God’s presence and power in our lives. We invite you to explore whether God is calling you to St. Timothy’s Church.
